NIH announces 2013 High Risk, High Reward research awards

October 2, 2013

Three Center investigators--Leor Weinberger, Zev Gartner, and Lei Stanley Qi--were recently awarded prestigious 'High Risk, High Reward' research grants from NIH.

These awards are designed to support exceptional innovation in biomedical research and supported by the NIH Common Fund. All of this year's recipients will take part in a special High Risk, High Reward Symposium at NIH in November. Congratulations to Center co-investigator Leor Weinberger on receiving the Pioneer Award, Center co-investigator Zev Gartner for receiving the New Innovator Award, and Systems Biology Fellow Lei Stanley Qi on receiving the Early Independence Award. They represent three out of the six recipients from UCSF this year, and read UCSF News for details on all six UCSF awardees.
