Cell Biology 2.0

December 3, 2012

"If we can build it, we can understand it", or so the saying goes from Giambattista Vico, which was later reiterated by Richard Feynman.

In the December 2012 issue of Trends in Cell Biology, Center investigators Wallace Marshall and Wendell Lim guest edit an issue of reviews dedicated to current topics in synthetic cell biology. The issue explores a broad range of fundamental issues, from reconstitution approaches and building something from the bottom up in order to understand it, to exploring new ways in which we can harness or repurpose cell machinery to perform new functions or produce new products. Check out the issue and the guest editorial by Wendell Lim and Wallace Marshall here.
