Matt Thomson receives NIH Director's Early Independence Award

December 5, 2012

Systems Biology Fellow Matt Thomson was one of only 14 recipients of the prestigious 2012 NIH Director's Early Independence Awards.

The NIH Common Fund established these awards in 2011 as a mechanism for exceptional early career scientists to move rapidly into independent research positions by essentially omitting the traditional post-doctoral training period. Read more about Matt's previous research and award proposal in the NIH press release. Congratulations to Matt on receiving this honor!
