Let’s make some noise

In new findings published in Molecular Cell, Center investigator Hana El-Samad and colleagues report that  coregulated genes can exhibit a shared variability—or noise—in their expression levels in yeast. These exciting results imply that noise can be utilized as a quantitative tool to identify gene regulatory networks.
