"Remote Control" of Therapeutic T Cells

Work published today in Science from Center Director Wendell Lim's lab by Chia-Yung Wu et al details ON-switch CAR T-cells -- immune cells which have been reprogrammed to attack cancer cells in a controllable way.
This is a great advancement to an already promising therapy, now optimized to reduce painful and often deadly side effects to the current iteration of T cell therapies.
